Ski Argentina

Las LeÑas, ARgentina

Are you the type of person to press pause on life and rush to the mountain when snow is dumping?  That time is now!  Grab your skis and meet me in South America!

The Central Andes mountains are having an exceptional season. So much so, that I’m hearing this from friends in Alaska, and I’ve verified it with my local Argentine ski partners.

Las Lenas is the ski resort where we will base this trip.  Why?  Because we can lift access 42,600 acres of ‘sidecountry’ terrain.

What's even better than that?

1.) It's all above treeline, which means extra beauty with a more extreme feeling.

2.) We'll be skiing around huge rock spires. #dramatic

3.) We'll be in Argentina, therefore eating steak and drinking Malbec regularly!

Cerro Catedral and Cerro chapelco, ARgentina

Want to go skiing in northern Patagonia? How about visit the iconic Bariloche: a small lakeside city in the mountains with charming German architecture?

I’ve put together a trip that includes 2 of the best resorts along with a top backcountry destination in Argentina: Cerro Chapelco, Cerro Catedral, and El Frey.

We’ll take touring gear and dive into the back bowls that are loaded with snow. In El Frey we will tour around granite spires that top the mountain like you’ve always imagined in Patagonia. A day of touring to get there, and we can stay inside the simple but accomodating Refugio, where a kitchen staff awaits!

Add in a road trip through the lake district to San Martin de los Andes, Malbec, and steak?! What else can you ask for? How about more back bowls off the Poma del Filo lift!!

FAQs

  • For Las Lenas, fly to Mendoza, Argentina. Perhaps my favorite small city on earth!

For the Cerros, fly to Bariloche.

  • Possible, but difficult. These trips are aimed at individuals that have their own equipment.

  • No. English will be ok half the time. Travis speaks enough Spanish to operate the other half of the time!

Let’s ski.
