Cotopaxi & Iliniza Sur, Ecuador
Cotopaxi, a stratovolcano towering at 5,897 meters (19,347 feet), is perhaps Ecuador’s most famous volcano. It offers a challenging climb through snow and ice. On the other hand, Iliniza Sur, standing at 5,263 meters (17,267 feet), presents a twin-peaked challenge, demanding technical expertise and determination.
Both climbs involve navigating through glacial terrains, steep slopes and snow ramps, and immersing oneself in the breathtaking landscapes of the Ecuadorian Andes.
